SCBA 'Scott-Pak' Training

- An inter-company 'Scott-Pak' training session was held on Sunday morning, at our department Training Facility, on Northville Turnpike. Members of both the RedBird Hook & Ladder and the Reliable Engine Companies were in attendance. Rollover on Youngs Avenue
MARCH 05
- On Friday evening, at 7:56pm, the Riverhead Fire Department was dispatched to a Signal-23, MVA rollover, on Youngs Avenue, just West of Osborne Avenue, in Riverhead. Upon the arrival of the first-responding chiefs, it was discovered that the vehicle was on its side, against a fence. Multiple Injuries at Rt.24 MVA
MARCH 02
- On Monday night, at around 6:45pm, the Riverhead Fire Department was dispatched to a Signal-23, motor vehicle accident with multiple injuries, Heavy-Rescue requested, at the intersection of Center Drive (County Route 51) and Nugent Drive (State Route 24). Appliance Fire in Aquebogue
MARCH 02
- On Monday afternoon, at 1:00pm, the Riverhead Fire Department was alerted to a Signal-13, smell of smoke in a residence, on Bluegrass Court in Aquebogue. Soon after our arrival, the problem was discovered to be the motor on the homes washing machine. The crew off the first arriving engine, 6-2-2, removed the appliance, with its burnt-up and smoking motor, from the home. All units were clear of this ... (Full Story)

Compactor Fire at Tanger Outlets
FEBRUARY 27
- On Saturday night, at 8:34pm, the Riverhead Fire Department was activated for a Signal-23, dumpster fire, behind suite #304, at Tanger Outlets, section One. Upon our arrival, we found it to be a cardboard compactor on fire. The unit was tightly compressed, and was almost full.
