Pickup Fire on 58
MAY 12
- Riverhead Fire Department received a call from Riverhead Police for a vehicle fire on the corner of Ostrander and Rte. 58. Chief 6-2-32 was first on scene reporting a fully involved pickup truck. Engine 6-2-1 was going to be the first engine on scene. Chief 6-2-32 instructed 6-2-1 to pull into the diner parking lot. An 1-3/4" line was pulled to attack the fire. Vehicle Fire at the West End of Riverhead's District
MAY 03
- Riverhead Fire Department is on scene at a Signal 14, vehicle fire, on Oak Dr. in Baiting Hollow. Riverhead PD reported a fully involved truck. The first chief on scene confirmed and reported possible extension to the trees above. Engine 6-2-1 was first on scene with Engine 6-2-4 shortly behind. Calverton Brush Fire
APRIL 30
- Riverhead Fire Department dispatched their chiefs for a smoke investigation in the area of the Calverton Hills Apartments. Chiefs 31, 32, and 33 responded and searched for the cause of the smoke. They found an area of brush burning behind one of the buildings. Chief 6-2-32 radioed for RFD dispatch to transmit a Signal 12, Brush Fire. Working fire at Riverhead Brewery
APRIL 20
- Riverhead Fire Department was activated for a structure fire at 817 Pulaski street, about 3:53 am, upon the chief's investigation a working fire was found. The bulk of the fire was concentrated to east end on the building. Hose lines from 6-2-14 entered a through a garage door and a roof teams from 6-2-5 and 6-2-6 were sent to the roof to vent heat and smoke.The following trucks were dispatched engines ... Busy Start to the Weekend
APRIL 20
- Riverhead Fire Department responded to the scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident at around 2:30 AM Saturday morning. While responding 6-2-11 was given an update from the scene that a truck was in the woods and that the roof would need to be removed to extract the patient. 6-2-11 went to work upon arrival, using two spreaders and two cutters to remove the roof.
