By web team
January 30, 2010

On Friday, January 29th, 2010 at 6:57pm, the Riverhead Fire Department was activated for a reported Signal-13, kitchen fire, at McLeod's Retirement Park on Riverleigh Avenue, in Riverside.

Upon arrival it was discovered to be an oven that would not turn off. The gas and electric lines to the stove were shut off, and the fire went out.

All apparatus were returned to quarters by 7:19pm.

Very early the next morning, at 1:22am, we were called out on a Signal-23, landing zone, in the old 'Suffolk Life' parking lot.

The SCPD 'Med-Evac' helicopter had been called to transport an injured passenger, from an earlier MVA, to Stony Brook University Hospital.

All units were released by 2:01am.
